Fourth of July, the time we celebrate the colonists defiance of a mad king by eating burgers and setting off explosives. I'm a burger girl, but I am particular. No raw onions. Actually I don't like any cold vegetables on my burgers at all. Save the lettuce and tomato for the salad.
- Cheese- any kind. I like to experiment. I'm big on stronger flavored cheeses on burgers...blue, Gorgonzola. But cheese really is a must.
- Bacon- duh
- Mushrooms- not canned.
- Guacamole/avocado
- Caramelized onions
- Garlic aioli- or some other creamy sauce.
- Onion strings- crispier and better than onion rings
- BBQ sauce
- Ketchup- no mustard on burgers for me. That's for hot dogs.
- Lobster- It sounds odd but one of my favorite burgers contains the following: Lobster, Smoked Gouda, Caramelized Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, Corn Spread. It is divine.

So far I've seen avocado on everyone's list but mine. That must be a sign I need to try it.
The lobster sounds pretty amazing!
try sweet baby ray's chipotle bbq sauce and a heaping pile of gorgonzola on a burger. spicy, sweet, pungent, tangy - yum!
and apparently I need to try the avocado on the burger thing - this is a new one for me...
Your burger is pushing my comfort zone. :)
Some burgers dressed up pretty, some are just stay at home and enjoy.
The avocado is worth trying. I use it on everything. I use it in chicken salad instead of mayonnaise- yum and much healthier.
On burgers it's a nice 'cool' pairing for some of the other flavors.
Still, bacon/mushrooms/cheese is my go to favorite and so few places will offer all three on one burger.
