for anyone who cares...

I didn't get the job. Don't really know why I thought I might. One would think that I would have learned by now.

For whatever it is worth.....

I know the person who last held this job, and it brought her no joy.

You are certainly well qualified to hold this job. But I imagine that the high profile of the employer created fierce competition.

Don't despair. You're a talented artist and a wonderful person and I would hire you in a heartbeat, if I didn't live three thousand miles away.

Smooches from your former supervisor,

Damn. What a bummer. But, lisa is right; you are talented and wonderful and the right job will come along when it's meant to be.

And I don't think I want you working on snob hill anyway! ;)

Okay, you get one week of feeling sorry for yourself, and if things aren't better, you're booking a plane ticket to California for a Working Vacation. A little scenic painting....a little wandering around vineyards and exploring our tide pools.

Maybe you should re-consider freelancing.

I think SALI offers health insurance. Chris Botta freelanced while pregnant.

It could happen. Or who know? You could "follow your bliss" in an all new direction.

Lots and Lots and Lots of Love

I'm sorry P. I know how badly you wanted to get it. You know you were qualified! The right one will come along. I know it will.

I heard a few not so nice things about that job and you don't want to go from one bad thing to another- there will be another opportunity around the corner and it will be SO much better!!!

I'm not sure if this is something you'd be interested in, but the Green Street Arts Center (in Middletown, affiliated with Wesleyan) is looking for an assistant director: http://careers.wesleyan.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1154976305015
